This oil painting on canvas was accepted into the Coventry Open exhibition, held at The Herbert gallery in 2012. I also exhibited this painting at my solo show at Rugby Museum and Art Gallery in 2013. It was a revelation to me that men as well as women could connect with my work. The unconditional love between a parent or child or in this case girl and doll allowed men to talk to men about love without the usual association of sex. As a girl I loved my dolls and the Uncanny feeling of dolls becoming real does not generally phase children. In fact I almost thought that at times they did hear, see or smell and that they could maybe walk/talk but you hadn't caught them doing this! I will continue to paint what inspires me and is still in-exhaustive as a subject and contextually.
